Rajeev Kumar, CFA, is the Senior Managing Director of Research, focusing on researching corporate governance issues and advising Georgeson clients on proxy contests, M&A, compensation and other proxy matters.
Prior to joining Georgeson in 2008, Rajeev worked with RiskMetrics Group (formerly Institutional Shareholder Services) from 2002 to 2007, where as the Director of the U.S. Research group, he led a team of research analysts producing proxy research reports for institutional clients advising them on shareholder issues. The research team conducted analysis of management and shareholder proposals on director election, executive compensation and corporate transactions including M&A, proxy contests, re-incorporations, private placements, capital structure and other event-driven issues. As a key member of the Policy Committee, Rajeev helped formulate and interpret application of RiskMetrics policy guidelines on proxy issues.
In his more than fifteen years of experience, Rajeev has held various positions in the areas of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate development and strategic business planning and analysis at Pegasus Communications, Teligent and Sprint, among others. He has extensive experience in managing and analyzing investment issues in support of key decisions relating to investors and senior management.
Rajeev is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), has an M.B.A in finance from Tulane University and holds a BS in mechanical engineering from India.
