Welcome to the Spring edition of the Georgeson UPDates

I hope this newsletter finds you and your families staying safe and healthy in these unprecedented times of social distancing, telecommuting, and home schooling. We have a newsletter packed full of information for you, but I would also like to take a moment to address the proverbial elephant in the room – COVID-19.

While the Coronavirus has caused many companies to struggle in order to send employees home to telecommute, we have had systems set up to allow secure homeworking before the outbreak began. In fact, many of our employees have been working remotely for years.  Although many functions can be done from remote locations, it is still necessary for some employees to continue to work in the office either on a regular or occasional basis. We are taking measures to ensure those employees who must report to the office are safe, including social distancing wherever possible and enhanced cleaning.

Due to multiple print and mail facilities, along with business continuity processes in place before the pandemic, we are well equipped to help our clients with their due diligence needs and do not expect any delays.  Protecting our client's data has always been and remains a top priority for Georgeson. Through our parent company, Computershare, Global Information Security was prepared and has deployed a full portfolio of cybersecurity services to all parts of the firm's business from remote and geographically-distributed home locations. This allows g for more than 80% of our US Operations staff to work from home in a secure manner, with critical attention to the protection of client and owner data.

I invite you to read the article on how COVID-19 is specifically impacting the world of escheatment also included in this newsletter.  Georgeson is fully prepared to help you with all your unclaimed property needs at any time and especially during this time of uncertainty.  If there is anything we can help you out with from consulting services, policies and procedures, due diligence, reporting, or owner outreach, please do not hesitate to reach out.

I hope you can enjoy the fresh air of spring as much as possible while continuing to make different memories with your family. As always, please send me any feedback on how we can improve the newsletter or other questions you might have.

Stay safe and healthy!
