NEW YORK, NY – Global proxy solicitation and shareholder engagement firm Georgeson has introduced a new shareholder intelligence service that provides US company executives and boards with real-time updates on changes within their shareholder bases.

Georgeson Shareholder Intelligence delivers precise and timely insights regarding shareholder ownership, providing, among other things, an early alert system for potential shareholder activism.

The comprehensive stock surveillance service offers market intelligence and insight to help companies understand shareholder trends and also provides additional context about why these trends are important for the company.

Information includes investor voting tendencies, customized investor profiles and proxy advisor insight as well as indications of shareholder activism vulnerability.

The service also furnishes company executives and boards with market intelligence to forecast whether the company management’s agenda is likely to be approved at an annual meeting.

Georgeson can also offer companies an activist monitoring service, which includes enhanced vote projections and vulnerability assessments of corporate boards and their individual directors.

“Georgeson Shareholder Intelligence enables clients to easily understand important early movements and changes among their shareholders,” said William Jackson, US CEO of Georgeson.

“Shareholder activism and hostile M&A are key concerns for many US boards and executives, and same-day data on shareholder movements can act as early warning signs, allowing boards to take action proactively, for example, by tailoring their shareholder engagement strategies.”

David Farkas, who recently joined Georgeson as Head of Shareholder Intelligence and who has more than 20 years of advisory experience in providing shareholder insights, will lead the new shareholder intelligence service in the US.

“By adding a shareholder intelligence service, Georgeson can better guide C-level executives and boards on corporate strategies and shareholder insights, particularly in relation to investor relationships, shareholder activism and ‘friendly’ or hostile M&As,” said Bill Fiske, Georgeson's Head of M&A and Activism in the US.
