We thought it would be fun to include a short Q&A with Dana in our first Georgeson UP Date enewsletter.

Q: What made you decide to join Georgeson?
I was ready for a new challenge in my career and I really liked the idea of jumping in on a new consulting practice where I could bring my expertise and hit the ground running.

Q: Name three tips you would provide to a holder that is under threat of an audit?
1. Get your house in order. Review past unclaimed property reports and ensure you are reporting for all possible property types your organization might have. Make sure you have a good understanding of the state law requirements and how you are complying with those laws.
2. Ensure your policies and procedures are solid and detailed. The auditor will ask for a copy of your policies and procedures so you also want to make sure they are up to date.
3. Perform a self-assessment to ensure you are following all of your policies and procedures

Q: Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself?
1. I have a husband and two wonderful children but the real love of my life is my two grandsons; Ethan (5) and Carson (3).
2. My favorite hobby is to scrapbook and craft. Most recently, I’ve been making home décor projects to decorate my new home office.
3. When time permits, I give back to my community by volunteering for the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault as a hospital advocate for victims of sexual assault.
